One of the most pressing issues facing carers in the ACT is the lack of adequate support to help people with a disability or mental illness to live independently.

On Wednesday 14 March, Carers ACT held a Summit to bring together government representatives, service providers, carers and other stakeholders to identify how families can get better access to supported living in the ACT.

The Summit’s ultimate aim was to help develop a sustainable, equitable and flexible system of supported living that meets growing demand in the ACT. Its immediate objective was to guide the terms of reference for an economic and social analysis of supported living options in the Territory with a view to providing a roadmap for improving access.
