Carers Craft Group
Members work on their own craft items, group projects and learn new skills in a friendly environment. Come and enjoy a chat, some craft and morning tea.

Art Appreciation Group
Meets at The National Gallery of Australia to view and learn about the various exhibitions. Carers can enjoy a coffee afterwards in the Gallery Cafe.

Tropical Lunchtime Escape
Escape the heat and celebrate the beginning of the New Year with a delicious tropical themed lunch. There will be a short presentation, lucky door prizes and a whole lot of tropical fun! Carers are most welcome to dress to the theme.

Enjoy a marvellous day out at the 2014 ACTewAGL Royal Canberra Show. Tickets and more information will be distributed prior to the event.

February: Low Maintenance Gardening and a Healing Garden
Create your own veggie patch and learn how to obtain a healthy crop with the minimum of between effort - with Susie. Learn about herbs in you garden, their healing benefits and how to make your own herbal teas and remedies - with Cathy.

March: Traditional Chinese Medicine with Dr Haisong Wang SOUTHSIDE
This session focuses on practical methods to help you manage your own health care, addressing specific autumn and winter health issues.

April: Home Energy and water assistance
Energy Efficiency Officer Connie will discuss ways to reduce your carbon footprint and save money. Retrofitting your home will also be discussed.

Keeping Families Connected
Keeping Families Connected (KFC) is a five week group program to help families who are caring for someone with a mental health issue and/or a drug dependancy. We will work with you to develop strategies to cope with your caring role and to navigate the mental health system to find the supports you need. Carers ACT runs three KFC courses each year. Carers Gathering 2014
The next carers gathering  is being held at the Murramarang Beachfront Resort in March 2014.

This wonderful and much loved event offers carers the chance for a bit of time away from their caring roleto relax and rejuvenate. If you would like more information or wish to submit an application, please email or phone Jess on 6296 9908. Priority will be given to those who did not attend in 2013.
